Found this post and just felt like replying to the silliness in it. Unfortunately, the author didn’t seem to include commenting on his Tumblr blog, so I actually have to reblog this… Bleargh.
I would also like to highlight to all iPad owners out there who spent $500 of their hard-earned money on that device.
- You could of spent it on an actually desktop computer, which would be more powerful, than a circuit board, covered by an aluminum cover, and an LED screen. Sorry to be blunt
If people want a desktop computer, they buy one. The whole point of the iPad is that it’s not a desktop computer. That argument is like saying that, for the price of a Yamaha R-1 motorbike, I can buy a Hyundai subcompact car. The two are utterly different vehicles, and that argument is therefore idiotic. Sorry to be blunt.
- Nokia 6120 Classic, and Motorola RAZR v3xx (which today cost less than $200 brand new~cheaper second hand) can stream/play Youtube Videos.
YouTube is an included app on the iPhone, iPod touch and, yes, the iPad. And given the screen size on the two phones you mention, it’s like arguing “why go to the cinema, I can watch the same film on my 12” portable TV hooked up to my VHS.” Sorry, I just don’t get what your point is.
Or perhaps the point was all the Flash content that doesn’t work on iPad. I’m not going to jump into the whole pro- or anti-Flash debate at this point, but I’d say, if you really, really want Flash, buy something that runs it. Probably not a Nokia 6120 Classic or a Motorola Razr, though, since they don’t actually run Flash. Or a web browser worthy of mention.
